What Is Couples Therapy?
Couples therapy (also called relationship counseling) is a type of therapy that helps couples understand each other better, handle conflicts as a team, and grow closer. In each session, you and your partner talk with me about what’s working, what’s not, what the negative cycle you’re both up against, and how to improve things together.
I use a proven tool called Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy to help couples get to the root of the problem and find ways to reconnect.
How Couples Therapy Can Help
Couples therapy gives you the space and tools to:
Talk things through in a calm, respectful way
Understand each other better
Build or rebuild trust
Get closer emotionally and physically
Make decisions together as a team
Feel more supported in your relationship
Many couples can feel more connected, less stressed, and better understood after just a few sessions.
Why Couples Come to Therapy
People come to relationship counseling for all kinds of reasons. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit. Therapy can help if you and your partner are:
Arguing more often
Feeling disconnected or distant
Struggling to communicate
Having trust issues or recovering from cheating
Experiencing stress from work, family, and/or parenting
Going through a big life change
Preparing for marriage
Having issues with sex or intimacy
If any of this sounds familiar, couples counseling in Los Angeles might be a good fit for you.
Change can be difficult and scary, but the outcome can be rewarding
Stepping out of your comfort zone takes real courage. I commend you for taking this step to schedule a consultation and inquire about therapy sessions. While change may not happen immediately, I promise to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and caring space for us to work together toward the life you’ve always wanted.
